Non-AMC Programs

The following programs are not sponsored by the AMC but by local commercial enterprises or non-profit organizations. Pre-registration is required for most programs. All programs are subject to change. Always call the number listed to confirm the date and time.

Saturday CPR and First Aid Training. CPR and First Aid training is required for AMC Chapter Youth Program Leaders and a useful skill for personal, professional and recreational activities. Classes are offered one Saturday morning per month by "Safety Trainers" at the National Safety Council in West Boylston. Classes begin at 8am and end at 12 noon. Cost is $55 for AMC members. Scholarships may be available. Certification is for 2 years.

  • September 20th, 2008

Safety Trainers National Safety Council, 186 West Boylston Street (Wachusett Plaza), Route 12, Wachusett Plaza, West Boylston, MA 01583. Contact 508-835-2333 to register. (Safety Council is located in back of the Wachusett Plaza). Directions: Take exit 4 off I-190 to Route 12 North. Proceed for 1 mile - Safety Council is located in back of the Wachusett Plaza. ADK Winter Mountaineering School Are you a three-season hiker who’s tired of watching your gear gather dust for five months out of the year? The Winter Mountaineering School may be just what you’re looking for. We have been helping hikers enjoy the mountains in winter for over 50 snow and ice filled years, and our dedicated, all-volunteer group of instructors makes the Winter Mountaineering School one of the best values around. This year’s program will be based out of the ADK Loj. Check out our website for program details, gear lists, photos, and more. Come join the fun!

Nashua River Watershed Assocation

Founded in 1969, the Nashua River Watershed Association's mission is to work for a healthy ecosystem with clean water and open spaces for human and wildlife communities, where people work together to sustain mutual economic and environmental well-being in the Nashua River watershed.
