Annual Spring Picnic - Sunday, May 18, 2008

Come join us for the Worcester Chapter Spring Picnic at Hopkinton State Park on Sunday May 18th. Fun starts at 10A. This is a great way to meet fellow AMCers and YMers! Activities for all ages and abilities. Hiking, Biking, Paddling, Swimming, Games. BBQ Lunch. We'll provide burgers, hot dogs and drinks. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share. Oh, and by the way....there WILL be give-a-ways! Please RVSP (email preferred) if attending with # adults/children by May 8th. $5 Admission for non-AMC members $10/family. Possible entrance fee to park.

Gear Tag Sale

Have you traded up some hiking gear for a lighter model? Is that canoe sitting in your yard waiting to be sold so you can buy that new kayack? Can someone else use that old bike? Want to give the opportunity for someone else to participate in an AMC activity? Bring your old gear to this years Spring Picnic. Give us a price and we will try to sell it for you. Intro to 3 Season Hiking: New to hiking or can't remember the last time you hit the trails or do you want to expand beyond local hikes/walks. Join us for our Intro to 3-season hiking series "From the Blue Hills to the White Mountains" Workshop followed by a series of 5 hikes. See details under Hiking Events.

The Worcester Chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club promotes the protection, enjoyment, and wise use of the mountains, rivers, and trails of the Northeast. In particular, our Chapter is dedicated to the outdoor resources of Central Massachusetts, for the purposes of education, recreation, and conservation. Founded in 1918, the Worcester Chapter has over 2,500 members, all of whom are dedicated to having fun in the outdoors. We offer activities for all levels, including backpacking trips, day hikes, bike rides, rock climbing, skiing, and a wide range of social events and educational programs.
